Steamed ginger fish is succulent, with a hint of garlic. It is normally served with white rice.

Ingredients:

1kg fish(whitefish,trout);whole fish cleaned
1 stalk lemongrass shoot;chopped and pounded
1 large onion;sliced
3 fresh red chillies;sliced thin
2 tablespoon oil
11/2 tablespoon shredded ginger
1 stalk spring onion;cut into 2cm length
light soy sauce
salt to taste
1 large tomato;sliced
1 lime;cut into 1/2

 

Method of preparation:

Place the cleaned fish on a plate.Rub a little salt on both sides. Set aside. Heat oil in a wok. Add sliced onion. Saute till it is golden brown. Pour the content of the wok evenly over the fish. Next, garnish the fish with ginger, lemongrass, spring onion and tomato.Pour soy sauce over the garnishings and fish. Steam the whole fish till it is cooked. Remove. Serve with white rice. Squeeze some lime juice on fish; if desired.
